Board Game Arena

Hi,
I have the feeling, that the filter is not working properly. I set it up so that I only get paired againts even (moderate) players, but I most often get paired with elite players which so annoys me, because I never have the slightest chance. I also set it up to play only against english speakers, but it does not work as well. Anybody having the same issues? What do I do wrong? Thx for any advice.

Same here, I try to play against same level or better players, but I often got some beginners. This is also true for language. At this moment, I believe that filter features does not works or is a premium feature.

You are setting the preferences under the cog in the Play Now section? Are you then launching games from there, or from the new lobbies (game pages)? As settings in the old lobby (Play Now) are not carried over to the new lobby as far as I understand.

The other point is that for Arena, you can request to be at a particular number of levels away from your opponent, but if a game only has two leagues (ie. Bronze and Elite), then 1 level away means you'll get matched with basically anyone. There's also the issue of what players are around at any given time (though it should still be respecting any "never" conditions you have set).
