Board Game Arena

Got an email today from BGA advertising the new Lord of the Rings themed game based loosely on the 7 Wonders Duel system. Was excited for a moment thinking it might be coming to BGA, but after reading realized it was just an advertisement to buy the game.

Understandable for BGA to send advertisement emails for its partner publishers since BGA users are likely to be interested in buying board games, but just had to smile and post here to see if anyone else got excited for a moment thinking it was coming to BGA

That was really strange. I know the same company owns both, but do the BGA terms of service allow email advertisement for non-BGA stuff?

Same. I hope this is going to be a rare occurrence and not a sign of things to come. But then there are already the regular Asmodee emails.

Same! I am a big fan of BGA, but this left me confused and annoyed. If the email was more clear (this is an ad for the game, and not related to bga) then I would have been less frustrated

“Hmm I wonder how you play this”
Few YouTube searches later “yep I need this in my life”
One online order later “ok let’s get some games going”
“Hey, not on bga. That’s weird. Is it ever coming to bga.”
Grumble now to wait for physical copy to arrive.
