Don't you think game master's decision power should be more important?

Hi everyone,

I'm oftenly playing here and launching games.

During my games, manly at french tarot, it oftenly happens for a player to reach a negative timer and get kicked out of the game.

Most of the time, we don't know the reasons why the kicked player ended up with a negative timer once, while he had no timer issues before in the game.

We all have already experienced network problem with BGA, and if you didnt, you may not play so oftenly then, because it regularly happens.

I'm not saying the problem only come from BGA, I'm just saying, none of us could know why someone would stop playing at one specific moment and how long it might take him or her to come back to the game.

So while I understand the logic of BGA, which allows any player to kick out any other player with a negative timer, which could be totally justified for a player who has a negative timer every turn, I don't understand how a player who plays correctly without any timer issues can get kicked so easily because of one unique delay.

I would like BGA to allow Game Masters, the ones who launch and run the games, to have the final say on these decisions that I personnally consider to be totally selfish from some players.

Ok if a player is playing slowly each turns, and someone wants to kick him or her out, then the game master should be able to agree.

But if a player is playing slowly on only one turn, for unknown reason, but probably for one, the game master should be able to agree or disagree.

Refusing this kick out, he should then be imposed to suggest a collective cancel of the game.

I understand BGA's logic and the idea of this topic is not to dispute it, just to suggest some little improvements to give more responsibilities to game masters.

What do you think of this idea ?

Thanks for your comments.

What happens where the game admin is the one running over time?

There have been arguments that the decision to boot should be a majority/unanimous decision from others at the table, which I think is more reasonable. That said, if a player only has a certain amount of time to play, joins a game where the time control should allow it to complete in that time, and is faced with a person consistently going over time on turns, there are those who would argue they shouldn't be forced to stay in the game (or get booted themselves when their time available to play is finished and they have to just leave the game in progress). Which is also quite valid.

I don't necessarily think it would be a bad thing to give admins some additional power over tables, but the way they've structured table creation in the new lobby means that two players who start a table (with the same settings) at the same time are likely to be merged to a single table. Then the platform would designate one the table admin and one not. Which if there's extra powers for table admins may annoy the person who thought they were creating their own table but then got moved on to someone else's.

Here's the neat part. The ones creating the tables already have that power when choosing what speed to create the table at. They want to give other players more time? Create a slower paced table. It is that simple. I don't understand why the ones creating the table should be able to hold other players hostage when someone at the table is clearly violating some rules.

This 'gamemaster' thing has no chance. General games on BGA are not organized by someone in the table, after all.

Even this is bad in many cases where some players play favorites over others.

I fail to see why we should care about game masters on BGA at all. I couldn't even tell you who the game master was in my games, or even if there was one in the first place.
