Board Game Arena

I like this game very much and used to rank within Top 70, but sometimes I'm not that lucky, so I will lose the game consecutively...I totally understood this situation, but everytime when I lose, my score will be deducted around 20-40. However, I can only earn about 4-15 for each winning...It's so frustrating, especially when I lose for several games, which will make my score go down greatly and I can only use at least double the time and efforts to win back...

It seems endless... After many days of playing in arena, I have less motivation to compete, especially when I feel I don't have luck at that moment (like I had 0 deer during the whole game, and I do think some cards take more advantages in scoring, such as deers/wolfs/martens/ferns...)

Just wanna share my feelings or can anyone share how you adjust your mindset when you are less lucky. THX~

I steer towards games that are fun even when losing. This is one of them for me - totally subjective of course.

Just focusing on rating is going to get you discouraged. Rating isn't made for gratification, it is made to try to evaluate skills. If you have a good rating you are expected to win more and so a loss will lose more points. And "luck" is just the noise in this.
My advise: Have fun playing, try to get better, don't focus on your bad luck moments - then your rating will eventually show what you achieved. Not the other way around.

(I have these frustration moments too - usually I do best when I don't care....).

Yes, I care about the ranking too much and almost don't enjoy the game. Thanks for reminding me that~~

okk...just some moments feeling down and unfair while losing much more scores than winning them

If you play only against higher-ranked players, you'll win more points with victories than lose with defeats. Of course, you'll probably also lose more often than win, so you choice

No, but you can play outside Arena.
