Shorted on ELO in recent game?

Going in to this game, I had an ELO of 282 and my opponent had an ELO of 357. I won the match and was awarded only 7 ELO; my opponent lost only 7. Based on my rudimentary understanding of the ELO system, there should have been a base 20 points at play, with the points being added or subtracted based on likelihood of winning the match; with my significantly lower ELO, I should have had less than a 50% win likelihood, and I should have been awarded more than 10 ELO for winning.

As far as I can tell, my opponent is not a new player, and we’ve only played against each other a handful of times. By way of example, in a recent game, my opponent had an ELO of 354 and lost to a different opponent with an ELO of 284; in that game, the winner gained 12 ELO and the loser lost 12 ELO.

Why the discrepancy?

Just hover on the ELO displayed on those pages:

Win probability: 39%
Consecutive wins (4): -44%
