How much Catan do you have to play to become a Guru

If I understand how guru-ing works correctly, then there's not a fixed limit, it's simply the (100? 1%?) people who play the most. But does anyone have any idea how much Catan-ing is necessary at the moment to reach that status?

According to the FAQ, sounds like it is limited to the 100 players who played the most ranked games within the last 30 days. https://boardgamearena.com/faq?anchor=f ... agamegurus

Great find. Now if only there was an indication of how many games the most busy people are playing. To see if I can push to that level to vote for better Arena setups.

I agree that it is not all luck, BUT, luck is a major part. I have played many games where you have absolutely killer positions and then the dice just say "NO", while some other player sits on their 3's and 11's and then dominates the whole round with drunk dice.

Statistically this is should not happen often, but it sure seems to!

Well, 37 games in a month is not enough.
Looks like I might have to play real-time to have a chance to finish enough games to get guru status.

You can probably pack more turn-based games than real-time, since you can have hundreds of simultaneous turn-based games going on.

To become a Catan Guru, probably needs TOP 1 in arena according to my previous experience whereas top 5 does not work.
I am not sure if there is a game number requirement.

How to become a Game Guru?
Your karma must be at least 90, and you must have been registered on Board Game Arena for at least one year.
The players who played the most (ranked) games in the last 30 days will automatically become gurus. (limited to 100 players)
Once a player is a guru for a specific game, they will keep their status for at least 1 month (unless their karma drops).

Other conditions may apply.

You don't have to play arena at all to be a guru, which is a complaint many people have about the system. For example, I've been a guru for Twin Tin Bots after playing (and losing) one game so my ELO doesn't even qualify for arena.
