Player quit on start up, so I decided to get everything.

got my road of 15, all dev cards, and up to 51 resource cards. Could not pass 51 as 7's kept stopping me! So this is when I gave up and just ended it at 16 pts. Pretty sure 16 is the absolute max you can get - I could have built more cities and settlements but then it would bump over 10 and end the game. Too bad you cant finish your turn even if you exceed 10.

Anyways, I am a moron.

Why did I do this? I have no idea. Boredom I guess!

Ive gotten 16 (in a real game, august 20th) but almost 17

3 cities, 1 town, largest army - 9 pts

on your final turn, if someone has the longest road and you can break it (4. roads and no town) and build a town on it - it will give you 3 points (2 for road and 1 for town) - and the game will be automatically over at 12 points. - plus 5 VPs - 17pts

AHhhh! Longest road by building to break another. Makes total sense - never thought of that scenario.

Not that it really matters - not sure who would, in a real game, take it this far before just winning!

I do wonder. Say I have 9, plus am holding 5 VP cards but not playing them. Then someone else wins and hits 10. Then my cards are counted up to 14. Do I win, or do they win? Technically I would have more points, but because I did not play my cards before they reached 10, would they get the win?

Not sure what the official rules are for that...

You can only win in your turn, so you lose.

Correct, you would lose. When the games over , it won't count your VPs. I tried this once. I had like 12 points and someone got to 10. I wanted to get more points and was curious to see what would happen lol
