Conceding

Right now conceding is not allowed in the first 50% of the game. I think it should be the opposite. If you have to go, you have to go. There should never be a time you can't concede -- EXCEPT for the FINAL move of the game. At this point, the game is about to be over and the last player is making his or her last move. The game obviously won't last much longer so the person who wants to concede can afford to wait one more minute or just leave the computer and go do whatever they want and let the game end on its own. This will stop serial conceders from conceding on purpose just as their opponent is about to make a final winning move. This is a nasty, petty, immature response to losing. It deprives the winner of the satisfaction of making a big final move they've been building up to for the entire game and it prevents players from seeing the final score break down. In many games there are certain end game scoring opportunities and bonuses you can't tally until the game is officially over, and these do not get tallied or added to the score when someone concedes. Alternately, it is incredibly annoying when you realize you need to leave or that you joined a game by mistake or that you made a bad move and will inevitably lose in the early stages of the game before people have really gotten into it, then you try to concede, and the game refuses to let you. There is zero reason not to let people concede at that stage. It's not fair to force people to just let their time run out or quit and take a penalty. FIX THIS PLEASE.

The 50% rule is a feature, not a bug. Without it, it is trivially easy for cheaters to create games against alt accounts, then instantly concede them to boost the ELO of the main account. No, it doesn't eliminate cheating. But it adds a time cost to cheating. Where you draw the line (25%, 50%, 74%) is admittedly arbitrary. Making it 1% is obviously too low. If you make it 99% you might as well not have conceding at all. But you have to set the cutoff somewhere, and it has been set at 50%.

Agree with OP, more or less.

The set-off being at 0% works for me. If someone wants to try doing obvious cheating like that it just makes it easier for the mods to see and ban instead of having to use any brainpower to figure out what they're doing. Makes reporting it way easier too, since you don't have to give much of an explanation for game specific knowledge. I've played a few 0% conceding games, in fact one of my 800 level games Boop was exactly like this. I only ever noticed one obvious conceding scheme that had already been handled before I saw it.

Exactly as he said. If people were doing this, it would be obvious and it could be monitored and the guilty parties banned. But also: it's just a game and these points are totally meaningless in real life. Who cares.

It's only obvious if you're looking at it manually. In an automated fashion, it's indestuigishable from players who will restart when they get a bad (or a "losing") hand dealt on the first move.
The obvious solution, from a design standpoint, is simply to prevent it in the first half of the game. It's a slightly worse experience for the player who wants to quit, but far better for the opponent and for protecting against cheaters.
