what are hard whim cards for?

Possibly stupid question. (I only had a look at the rules and went through the tutorial.)

What would be the reason for anyone to ever draw a hard whim card? (Other than wanting a challenge I guess.)

What answer did you come up with? I think Hard cards are mostly for 4 player games when you can get a lot of free information when the other persons play. Certainly they are not good for 2 person games.

Oh, my question was just on a rules level. When I asked I wasn't aware that the rewards are different for easy/medium/hard. So the answer I found is: for advancing more whan you guess it. If/when you should actually do that from a strategical standpoint is an alltogether different question.

So far I have been avoiding hard entirely, righly so it seems (only having played 2 and 3 player games so far). I already read that one should always go for an easy if available as long as the queen moves only 1 step. Does that mean one should not play easy anymore after that and go for medium? Or does that depend on the situation?

I like to have an easy card in the mix for insurance and you can only have ONE easy card at a time. I think you should save them for when it is not 100% for the medium or hard cards, since you have to guess at least one whim card per turn. I agree that the hard cards are better used with more players. The reward for a hard card is often worth it...but not always...sometimes, it seems too low for the risk. But when you figure out a hard one, it is so sweet! There are few games that make you feel smart and this is one.
