Board Game Arena

There's a user I've been playing in the arena for several matches in the last few weeks and I keep losing to very improbable hand draws.

I've lost to many amazing hands in this game (seahorses, 3x mermaids, 2xsailors+captain, etc.) but there's one player that I consistently lose to with 10+ point hands before color bonus.

Is there a way to cheat on BGA? the thought never crossed my mind but after playing this ranked payer a lot I wonder if people are trying to protect their rank and using some kind of trick on the server?

Hadn't given it much thought and honestly don't care to do anything about this...more curious if there are known hacks on Sea Salt & paper or if people have had consistently improbably losses to an individual

lol - to be fair no sooner had I posted this did I just win with a hand of 2 sailors, a penguin and a seahorse....so maybe I'm just imagining this? Like I said just curious in general about any weird BGA tactics that people have seen from competitive people

We just notice bad luck a lot more than good luck. I had a very long losing streak in Martian Dice once (which is 95% luck-based) and felt that that was unfair, because I never had such a streak of good luck before. Or so I thought. I checked my win percentage and it was at 54% at that time. So I've had my fair share of good luck before - probably more than that - only I didn't notice, probably because I felt I deserved it.

Can't remember how I did it, but once I got 18 points in one round! And once I had all 4 mermaids. There were a lot of lucky games but a lot more of unlucky ones, I think. So I guess it's just as it is....a luck-based game with a bit of strategy.

Could it just be this player doesn't like to announce Last Chance until they have 10+ points?
