Just curious if this is the best possible setup with the win score of 96:
And what would be the lowest one?

Yes I think it is
With 3 tori, 4 rice fields, monk, advisor and naishi you can get 89 which is the closest I could get.
Lowest is all mountain and one tori. I'm not sure you can end the game that fast but if u use imperial decree and keep retrieving one token you can waste turns. You can also use senthials (idk how it's spelt) next to each other to keep your score at -10.

The second highest would actually be 92,
From left to right, top to bottom, in this order:
Banner/ banner/ naishi/ tori/ fort
Horse/ Horse/ Tori/ monk/ tori
There are a few ways of making this combo, but this I think has the most variety of units to win ties

I confirm the highest is 96 and lowest -10
There can be multiple setups with 96, but all involve the Ronin + perfect placements and combos of each card
There's a game in BGA with a tie at 96 for both players

Correction to my last statement, the second highest without ronin is 93 I think, if I counted right
Banner/ Tori/ Naishi/ advisor/ banner
Horse/ monk/ Tori/ Tori/ Horse

Just want to point out that "possible" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
It's possible a really good basketball team could score over 400pts in regulation time if the other team was trapped under a large rock.

This cannot be the highest possible score.
Try replacing the tori with a mountain. It increases the score.

No the mountain does not count towards the Ronin's 10 different cards (neither does a ninja).
