In the thread "Conceding matches long before they're lost is out of hand" Franka2 asks how to give up and nobody answered so I try a new thread.
I have used forfeit - but the opponent has to agree. How do you just give up?

Click on the "burger" menu at the top right. There's an option to concede.

Still I don't understand the practical difference between suggesting forfeit and simply giving up. Anyone?

If you abandon a game you'll get a karma penalty.

Do you get karma penalty for conceding after 50% completion? I always thought that was acceptable. I always use the forfeit option, though, so I wasn't sure.

No, that's conceding, that's a different thing.
I shouldn't have said "abandon" though, I should have said "quit". Abandoning is an agreement between all players to neutralize the game. Quitting is a player just leaving the game, or being expelled by another player.

Yeah, I think when they said abandon, they meant concede (or that's how I understood it based on they're previous questions/comments), so I mistakenly thought you were referring to conceding.
Thanks for the clarification!
