Rules Clarification

When playing in Marine Worlds, I had Sponsors 2 alternate action card, which allows you to gain extra money when you play the sponsors action and gain money.
I had a multiplier token on the action. I played it at 5. First I played the Veterinarian (with 2 universities) and gained 5 money, then 3 more for the Sponsors ability. With the second action, I did Break 5-Gain 5. I assumed I'd gain the 3 more money with the second action, but I did not.
Am I misunderstanding the rules or was this a bug? (I haven't reported it as a bug because it may be working exactly as intended and I just didn't understand).

I think it’s similar to if you were breaking twice. It will give you all the money but it will only give you one X. I think the game classifies them differently as “turns” and “ actions”. Another example I can think of is selling a card per turn. One I’m not sure about is building an extra kiosk or pavilion. It would be interesting to see if you could do that twice.

The glossary says "Gain X extra money when you gain money because of this Sponsors action (no matter how much money and from how many sources)." (X = 3 or 5 depending on upgrade status)
Just based on that, I would have said the 2x token makes it a separate action that should receive the benefit again. I could see the counter argument that it's all "this Sponsors action", but I'd still go with my first guess in the absence of an authoritative answer.

This is a bug, please report it as such.
Special abilities of the action cards always refer to the action, not the turn. And with the multiplier token you are doing 2 separate actions.
