crossing lakes

When crossing a lake, the manual says "When moving into a lake, you can move to any space directly connected to
that lake." But that didn't seem to work in my game today - in the full map below (forum won't let me upload a smaller screenshot...) I was trying to cross the inland lake in the extreme lower left. I was in the leftmost (west) location on the lake, and had a movement card with northeast on it, so shouldn't that count as entering the lake, and let me move to the southern point? Anyway, it didn't, so the whole day's movement was wasted.

Do you mean the point that does not have a northeast-pointing arrow and therefore you cannot move northeast from it?

Wow, I hadn't actually noticed that the points had arrows on them! I was just going by the look of the paths on the map. Thanks for clarifying that this direction just isn't allowed there.

Serves me right for mostly playing on a tiny screen!
