Hi ,

Don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if I have unrealistic expectations s a non premium player.
When I try to get on a game of Azul, it typically takes 5-10 minutes to get a table despite it saying match should take a few seconds. Also, when “tables waiting for players” pop up, it always says “can’t join, table already started” but continues to show these seemingly unavailable tables.


Something seems wonky and didn’t know if I perhaps have something bizarre in my settings. Thanks

Azul is such a popular game that there's no way it should take that long, even in off-peak hours, regardless of whether you're premium. Do you have some extremely restrictive filters set?

I’m not sure, where would I see this? It looks like only options I have are for fast scoring, number of players and allow variants?

It sounds like you're only using the single-game Azul lobby, so don't worry about other settings.

Given that it looks like you mostly play two-player games, that option shouldn't be impacting matchmaking.

If you have the "Variant option" box checked, then I think that's your problem. Practically no one plays with the gray wall variant. Even with the flexibility slider active so that you can still be matched with non-variant games, it's first trying to match you in a game with the gray wall variant, and if it can't find one (which it almost never will), then it puts you in a game with no variant. I'm not sure how long it tries to find your preferred settings before expanding the search, but whatever it is will add waiting time.

If you don't have the "Variant option" box checked, then maybe the same thing is happening with the "Fast scoring" box, because fast scoring is off by default, so people have to actively change it when creating a table, and it is human nature to just use default settings.

If neither one of those is checked, I'm out of ideas.

It's the same for me with getting Azul games. I have all the standard settings chosen. It seems like it is taking longer to get games than even a couple of weeks ago.

Did you try to clear cookies and cache and set the game preference to default?

I've had this issue with Orleans. Used to be able to get a 3P game within a few minutes, but now nothing despite over 1,000 sessions going on at any given time.

Are those real-time sessions? I'd love to know, because I have a turn-based Orléans game that's already about 3 weeks old and only 65% progression.

I just looked and currently only found one real-time game in the first 280 games I sampled (I wasn't going to go through all 1,000).
