The numbers often end up entirely in one players favour, which decides the winner of the game instead of good gameplay. It would be great to add an option to have a dice deck which would allow for randomness but not ridiculous amounts of 5s for example.
This would not only be helpful for settlers of catan but also games like space base etc.

BGA does not support house rules, unless approved by the publisher.

Even if they did approvde house rules, there's no way to implement what you're asking on a site-wide basis.

You need to file a suggestion on the specific games where you want to see this. File an official suggestion for Catan, for instance.

Actually, this is an official variant for Catan. I believe it was included in the Traders and Barbarians expansion box.

Plus, emphasis on 'approved by the publisher'. This applies to official variants as well.
