Board Game Arena

Since a couple of days, I suddenly can't play properly on my tablet anymore because the game board moves around. This happens due to the white bar at the top that indicates whose turn it is and what actions need to be taken. The size of this bar changes whenever a new message appears, or when I click on the game board. As a result, the game board keeps shifting positions. Playing isn't impossible but it's very annoying and it keeps me from playing.

I experience this issue on both a Xiaomi and a Samsung tablet, and in Chrome as well as other browsers. It happens in all games. However, I don’t have this problem on my Samsung phone.

Indeed, I experienced the same thing recently. The white bar on top changes its size whenever I scroll down, and the whole screen “bling bling bling move move move” (sorry I don’t know how to describe it properly…), and very difficult to continue playing. It happens when I played Distilled, but other games too.

I was wondering it’s just my phone’s issue, or some game setting has changed (I didn’t change the setting). I am playing on my iphone11.

BGA devs made a change involving the white bar, yes. If you can make a list of games that are affected like this, it may be helpful to fix them.

Same problem on an iPhone. It happens with Gaia project.

Terraforming Mars and Ark Nova aren’t affected.

So far I have this problem when playing Distilled and Century Spice Road. Will keep the list updated...

I noticed it isn't all games.

Games that have this problem:

- lucky numbers
- marrakech
- cubirds

Games that don't have this problem:

- yathzee
- lost cities

Pretty bad on Bärenpark.

Same “bling bling” and white bar problem on:
- Sea salt & paper
- Rift force

Does anyone know if this bug has been picked up and is being looked at?

I'm a bit bored always playing the same two games because all the other games I usually play have this bug.

I understand it might take some time, but I don’t know if they’re aware of it. I filed a bug report when it started, but I can’t even find it anymore.

I don't know, but the BGA staff might return from holiday time off this coming week.
