Real time matchmaking mobile

Hi
Is there a way to do real time matchmaking on a mobile device (I’m on iOS), without having your browser window open up front the whole time?
It usually takes several minutes, if not half an hour, before finding a match.
When playing on mobile, if I switch apps and come back a couple of seconds later, I’m thrown out of the matchmaking queue. If my screen turns black due to inactivity, and I’m not quick enough to unlock the screen, I’m equally thrown out of the matchmaking queue.
So what I do when playing on mobile, is keeping the BGA browser window open, while regularly tapping the screen to keep it unlocked. It’s ridiculous and so annoying to the point that if I wouldn’t be addicted to King Of Tokyo I probably wouldn’t bother with BGA anymore.
I also installed BGA as a Home Screen page “app” to be able to receive push notifications. Those work, but I still get thrown out of the matchmaking queue when switching to another or closing the screen.
What I’m looking for is to have realtime matchmaking, and be able to lock my screen or use another app or website, and when a match is found, I could just tap the push notification to start the game. Without having to stare at that stupid button for fifteen minutes like an idiot.
Is this even possible, and if not: why
