I have been kicked out of games for being 20 seconds over because I went to the restroom. I have horrible karma because of poor website design. I will probably cancel my subscription, since I am being punished for other people kicking me so that they can get easy wins.

You could stop playing fast paced games, but no it's the websites fault

Giving players a unilateral "time out" is never going to be a popular idea. See for example this thread:
viewtopic.php?t=34132 A better idea is a fourth speed setting with a large time bank but very short amount of time added per turn; this could allow a few minutes during the game for a toilet break. See proposal here:

You have timed out in 25% of your games last 60 days. Of the five games where you were expelled, three were turn-based and two were fast-paced real-time where you timed out after only minutes. Are you sure restroom breaks are the main problem?
