coup arena setting "1 vs 1"

Hi,

Coup arena setting of 1 vs 1 is completely against the essence of the game involving 5-6 players. Instead of calculated risks, now it is more like a shootout with completely luck-based challenge and actions. Maybe the purpose was to have more arena matches but did some Gurus agreed on it? Will this setting now continue for three months or can be corrected in between also?

Regards
MJS

I really have to agree. I've always been hesitant to play with even 3 people, and playing with 2 just seems like a very different sort of game. I've been really surprised that the game isn't more popular — it's been a big hit among the various groups to whom I've introduced it over the years — so given that reality, I can see the appeal in at least trying out a season with 2-player games. Hopefully it'll return to at least 3-player games in future seasons...

Then make your own tables that aren't arena. An arena ladder with no one on it is as good as no ladder. If you don't agree with the arena settings, become a guru and propose / vote for a different system. Though I will say in advance that every season that a 4+ player setting is voted into play that season is one with no arena champions, and everyone regrets the mistake of even proposing it to begin with and votes it back to a 3p- ruleset.

This literally makes it a race to 7 coins, and is not fun at all
