Build on water and rock card interaction

Question: if I use the new improved build action card that allows to cover one water or rock space to build an enclosure that covers one water tile and then *touches* another water tile, does it count as "touching two water tiles"? Or did the covered water tile cease to exist?

If you can't see something, it's not there. ArkNova never require you to remember stuff (same for animals that are NOT inside enclosures when played).

In a similar vein, if you build over the observation tower on map 1/1a, the restaurant on map 5/5a, or the gates on map 2/2a, you no longer gain the benefits they provide.
