Ice Skates Balance

Ice Skates is an interesting card to use, but I think there is a play pattern problem because it is not optional. If everyone executing the dogma effect can gain value from it, had a reasonable way to avoid executing it, or at least doesn't incur serious damage executing it, I find Ice Skates to be a fun and well designed card. The problem arises most often in the very early game where it can be easy to force your opponent to share and return a top card for very little value, while you reap the sharing bonus allowing you to continue using Ice Skates. The card already has a lot of flexibility and power, so to me it seems unbalanced that it also works as such an effective "psuedo-demand" card. If it instead said "Return up to three cards from your hand. If you returned any..." or something to that effect, this problem might be avoided.

They reworked it in new edition (currently in alpha).
But I think it is ok right now, just play around it (don't meld single high value cards while opponent has it, as you do against perfume)

Hello,
I don't agree with you, the ice skate is indeed a sharp tool, which can cause a bit of damage if you risk it! :D
Congratulations to the author, Karl Chudick, for putting so much sense into these cards!
