new game - player rating filter

So I started a new game, and had the filter for Player's Reputation to very restrictive: 75% or higher.
and I still have people joining my game with ~50% reputation ... and of course, they run out of time, and delay the game, etc etc ..
Why is the reputation filter not working properly ??
FYI: Game # 623693812 (Heat: Pedal to the Metal)

Are you using the old lobby (Play Now) or new lobby (game page) to create your table? Because I don't see any evidence of a reputation restriction on your table (which may well mean it's not being applied). For example, I have a game of Seasons running where I've got a karma filter of >65%:
https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=622757263
You can see above the list of players it says: "Access restricted to: Good players and below, ☯ ≥ 65%". Yours doesn't have that. I believe it's been suggested before that filters in the new lobbies don't necessarily work as expected, and this may be an example of that.
ETA: That said, I just used the new lobby to setup a new game of King of Tokyo with some restrictions and it does show them above the player list:

hmm, perhaps that is something about it ..
first I go into the PLay now page, and seting it to real time automatic ...
I click on the "gear" icon by the game.
This is the ONLY place I've found the reputation settings.
So I set those to what I want ..
Now, because I want to setup a very specific game .. I go back into the Games page, my favourites, and to the game's, game page ... choose real-time .., and select all the options.
There is a Custom options spot where I can click Advanced options, however there is not reputation filter at that point .. so I was assuming it's picking it up from the other one? (apparently not?)
If so .. why is there no reputation filter on the game's game page then ?
Shouldn't there be one?

Settings under the gear on the Play Now page (old lobby) apply to automatically created games created from that interface (as far as I've been able to ascertain anecdotally). So no, it doesn't automatically apply to games created via the game pages (new lobbies).
Restrictions on the game page are under the door icon (yes, not the most intuitive place, but there it is):

It is not intuitive at all what that's for, even if someone is even inclined to explore other settings.

How do I get to the new lobby. Can you use both lobbies .? I prefer the old lobby but the new lobby has extra features I need. Like notifications for obscure games looking for players

Go to
https://boardgamearena.com/lobby or use the "PLAY NOW" link at the top.
For the notifications, you probably have the game in favorites, so in the lobby, click on the game's name, and enable/disable the notification. Go back to the lobby after.

The Play Now lobby is the oldest lobby (at least 5 years old). The new lobby that you asked for seen in the screenshots above is a single-game lobby accessible simply by clicking on a link to that game, such as by searching for it in the site-wide search bar in the upper left of most pages. There is also separately a newish games lobby accessible from the Games tab above.
