colored information bar is not bad, but now it's hard to see at a glance who took the row. It should be highlighted.

The sound effects are horrible. Why change something that's working? You should have just fixed the bugs and left the rest alone.

Which information bar? Please elaborate what it means.

Please check preference option list.
I'm saying this so many times this week.

First, I am so glad to see someone working on this old game. I don’t really like the animations being faster, It actually slows my play down, because it takes a few seconds to figure out what I just missed. Others at my table said the same thing. The game length options are good, and long overdue. So thanks for making this effort.

I have some suggestions if you are open to them. First suggestion: add 1 and 2 round game options. The 2 round game might be used a lot by casual players. The 1 round game would rarely be used, but it would be very useful in tournaments.

Currently the longest real time tournament can only be about 4 games long, any longer is too much of a time commitment to get many players. A 4 game tournament is terrible because half the players wont play the first game due to several absent players at different tables. A lot of players will miss a second game at some point due to uneven player counts at some tables. So if a tournament is scheduled for 4 games, you should expect to only play 2 games, and sit and wait for other players. Also the winner is likely a player who won 2 games by forfeit.

But in a 1-round per game tournament, we could play 12-15 rounds in a reasonable amount of time and the tournament could be fun.

The card play animation is now shorter due to the time limit issue and that was one of the issues with the most votes in BGA (rank #23).
This will not be changed.

Also, you said you have 'some' suggestions, but I see only one. Are there others?

Edit: I checked the average game length a bit and 1 round seems OK. Added it while fixing some other bugs.

Actually I like the idea of choosing any from 1-10 rounds. But if that's a hassle, no worries. 5 rounds would be maybe the most popular.

Okay, suggestion #2, spectators can’t see if there are 9 cards left to play or just 1 card left. Quite often people come to the tables in order to catch the next game. It would be nice to see how many cards are left.

#3. I doubt this is possible within bga framework. If a player quits or is expelled, the game should continue. The cards of the missing player would not be played. If the game is 5p tactics with cards from 1-54 then the game becomes 4p and future rounds only cards 1-44 are dealt. I imagine this is impossible.

#4. A chart below that shows every card that has been played in the current round. I don’t care about this myself but I think it would be popular. It would be an option like it is in The Crew. A chart is not in that rule book either but the option is almost always turned on.

#5. Pro version should be a separate game. Hearts and Spades use the exact same components, and come in the same box, but they are not considered variants of the same game. Pro and normal 6 Nimmt are as fundamentally different as those games. I know your opinion is against this, but consider, for a moment. There are more 6 Nimmt players upset every arena season than any other game on the site. It’s not just that the game they love is allowing a rule they don’t like, it’s that the game they love isn’t available at all.

#6. Even with all it’s flaws, elo works really well for this game with tables of recommended player counts. On the all time ranking the top positions are always changing, rotating between the top 100 players. It works exactly like we all want it to except for 2 or 3 players at the very top, that none of the rest of us ever play, because they only play 2p games. We gain 62% of the elo allocated, while 2p games gain 100%. A player has to have a huge winning streak to reach 600, then they need about 27 victories in a row against all experts (more than 7 quadrillion to 1) to reach the top players at 780, who don’t bother playing strong opponents, and don’t even play each other.

Actually it’s much harder than that, because once you start a winning streak against those experts, you’ll get the winning streak penalty and start gaining 0 elo, and there aren’t 100 experts to begin with. Meanwhile playing 2p, there’s plenty of beginners, no need to play real opponents. So the suggestion, 2p and 3p games quit having such an elo advantage.

This is a pretty long post, I better stop. :)

I checked hundreds of bug reports and suggestions, but I couldn't find any suggestion like this. I don't think this is useful enough.

As you suspected, this is infeasible.

I doubt that. From my experience, many players were actually pissed off with such features in various competitive games.
I won't bother unless the publisher actively supports this feature.
Note: The Crew is a cooperative game and many players requested the feature. 6 nimmt! is not.

I already rejected this, and this will never be accepted by either BGA or the publisher as well.
Actually I tried doing a similar thing in Gomoku before (separating Gomoku and Caro), then it was rejected by BGA.
If you want to affect Arena mode setting, you should rather persuade gurus than pursuing an unobtainable goal like this.
Also, your analogy is wrong. A playing card set is not a 'game box' with predefined rules.

ELO rating is a BGA issue. I can do nothing about it.

Hi,

I can see the use for the professional variant warning symbol, but I find it VERY distracting, especially since professional is the arena mode. Could you make it possible to turn off the warning in my personal options?
