The King of Babylon, in a grand gesture of love- or maybe just trying to win Husband of the Year- decides to gift his wife, Queen Amytis, something truly breathtaking: the most magnificent city the world has ever seen. He asks two of the best Architects in the world to design the city, and only the very best will be built. It is now up to you to create the best design.

Architects of Amytis is a Tile placement game containing worker placement and even "Tic Tac Toe" mechanisms.

During your turn, you will have to select a tile among the available ones on the main board, and place one of your Architect Pawns on the corresponding pile.

Then, you will place the tile on your board wherever you want (on a free spot, or covering another tile to make your city grow higher). Each tile is colored (4 colors) and represents a building (6 different types). Each building type will score directly when you place the tile. And the colors will allow you to reproduce some of the King's projects (a colored pattern inside your city) that will grant you points at the end of the game.
Furthermore, while placing your architects on the main board, if you manage to create a line, row or diagonal of 3, you will be granted a King's favor: another type of score, triggered at the end of the game.
Buildings all have two types of scoring, so you can play different kinds of games one after the other.

Which strategy will you choose to create the most marvelous city of the World?
One of you will probably go down in history as the creator of this dazzling wonder... and the other? Well, probably back to designing barns.

A big thank you to La Boite de Jeu for granting us the authorization to host this title on our platform! We are also deeply grateful to the game designers Jérémy Ducret and Romaric Galonnier for creating such an inspiring game. Finally, a special thanks to Sir Heo for the excellent development work that made this adaptation possible.

That's it for your Wednesday Release Time (or WRT as i like to shorten it).
Enjoy your week on Board Game Arena, and until next Wednesday, as always...

...Take care and play fair!

Wow, this game looks great and some of my friends are playing it already.

I have taken ownership of tournament creation and will be creating 2 tournaments per month. Links to the first 2 tournaments here:

Starting March 1 at 14:00 UTC - https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=363353-Swiss with top cut. Try and get 4-1 record or better to advance to single elimination finals. This is the closest to a "Double Elimination" tournament that we can make on BGA with the current tournament settings. The idea is to be a bit more forgiving than a single elimination tournament and allow players to stay in the tournament for longer with at least 5 matches. I've used SIDE A for settings. If anyone wants this changed for future tournaments let me know. I've scheduled it to avoid conflict with existing tournaments.

Starting March 9 at 14:00 UTC https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=363488 - 6x6 Double Robin meaning 6 groups of 6 players with round robin for both stages, 1 player from each group advances so stage 2 is also 6 players. This is a busier, more intensive tournament than the Swiss since you get 5 games starting at once (but long game duration), but I've kept the group size reasonable to make it more popular and minimize players feeling overwhelmed with too many games! If this fills up quickly I will make next month's tournament larger size.

Feel free to DM me for an invite if you are under 100 Elo.

I strive to make enjoyable tournaments for everyone so we can grow player communities on BGA. I treat tournament creation seriously, trying to ensure great settings so everyone has a good time, similar to inviting all of you to my house for a board game night. I'm always open to suggestions for future tournaments. My tournaments each had their own custom icon so players can identify them easily in the list and know the expected settings at a glance. 2 player tournaments will be 1-2 month long in duration and hosted monthly so newer players can always hop in and join the community!

Each tournament has links to completed tournaments under same settings for reference on how the tournaments will play out if anyone finds reading and interpreting the tournament settings list difficult.
