Nickname availablity

I deleted a newly created account so that I can create one with the proper e-mail address (I typed one I use for business, yahoo was initially not receiving the confirmation and I read one cannot change the e-mail address).

Now I cannot create a new account with my desired nickname, even though I am pretty certain that in 5 minutes someone did not use the same one.

Question 1: Is there a specific period in which a nickname is restricted after an account is deleted or is this a bug? (I can understand that for a banned user, but it is not the case since, as I said, it was a newly created account)
Question 2: Is there a member search function?

Thanks in advance, I'm new and a bit OCD I guess.

By going to the private messages through the forums, one can access a member search tool. I think if you try to reserve a spot at a table for a member, it also will work as a search function. There may be other ways as well.

I believe the nicknames are never deleted from database, see for example deleted account pejsek2 in Armadöra ranking, it still sits there after several weeks from deletion. It's a bug, yep.

EDIT: You might piggyback with your problem here or maybe start your own bug report

Thank you for the kind answers!

I will wait for a few days (or weeks) to see if the entry clears from the database. The nickname is surely not mentioned in any game ranking as it never participated in any games.

I didn't start with a bug report because I was thinking it might be the default behavior. If anyone has knowledge about this, I'm interested in finding out ;)
