I understand the White Castle solo player bot to notoriously difficult. Has the original inception of the solo player bot been modified for the BGA translation?

Hello,

I quite agree on the difficulty of the solo mode. Even in easy mode, in a game that I think was particularly successful (see table #641389793) I lost by one point. Did I miss something important about the game or is the solo bot just not well balanced ?

In my view, the bot does not simulate a human player very well. It is built to score within a certain scoring range, regardless of the board setup. If you want to play actively against it, you can consider emptying the bridges the bot has placed gardeners on, because it does not score at the end of Round 1 and especially 2 then. You can take a look here: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/344878 ... st-the-bot, where some ideas were collected to beat the bot.
Apart from that it is more about optimising your own points per turn, which can still result in a loss. Take it easy :-)

I own a physical copy of the game, and also Matcha, and playing in BGA has let me start many games easily, and not have to worry about manually updating the bot. This has let me to a win rate in easy mode of around 50%, so I'm quite happy. It is doable! You've got to check at the start of the round what dice placements will grant you the most resources that you want to use, for instance with Gardeners during the first round. Also, building the lantern deck is very powerful, but not always possible/needed. Using the lower row of dice is also crucial, as long as you have enough coins and can manage the coin requirements.

I think the bot is to Powerful because he reuse the Cards. In the Board game he has 9 Cards. If he can‘t geht the dice he take a new card and if the 9 cards were empty he is finish. So you have a Chance to play without him one or two rounds. But I think this bot here did it not this way.
