How to Refresh iOS Home Screen "App"?

I added BGA to my iPhone home screen as an App so I could get notifications. When using it to play, I have no refresh button, and the swipe down doesn't appear to work. Is there a bug I'm experiencing or is there a different way to refresh (or no way at all)?

Note: While actively playing a game it refreshes as expected. It just doesn't pick up new games I may have joined via my desktop computer. Closing the app and reopening refreshes perfectly... it's just a pain to keep doing that.

As far as I know, there isn't an "app" for the iphone. I am thinking you created a shortcut? If so, it will need to be refreshed to show any updates as you are currently doing.

Yeah, it is definitely a shortcut, but it is an “add to home screen” shortcut versus just a bookmark within Safari. It was the way you needed to add it in order to get iOS notifications to work. The problem is, when you access it that way, there is no additional UI (i.e. the reload/refresh button) and swipe down doesn’t seem to refresh. The only thing I’ve gotten to work is closing and reopening.
