H there,

I just finished this game - https://boardgamearena.com/6/spots?table=632233381

The end of game statistics are confusing to me.

It says Treats Earned 25 , Treats Spent 7 . I ended the game with 7 treats, so what happened to the other 11?

Take a look at the game's log. The answer's in the last few moves of the game.

Ah, I see. Its the card that gives you 7 treats, but takes back some depending on the dice roll. the game counts that as me gaining all 7, but I didn't 'spend' the ones the game took back.

I wonder if the stats log should only count the amount you actually keep in the 'treats gained' section

That's a good question for this particular card. Remember, though, that there are lots of cards with lots of difference effects and the statistics need to cover all of them in a general manners. Furthermore, the trick in question actually has two parts: (1) gain the treats then (2) lose the treats.

Behind the scenes, the code handles those parts separately. It calls the gain procedure to get the treats, which increments the stat counter as it shouls.

tl;dr: While making an exception makes sense for this one trick, once you look a all the tricks the number of exceptions becomes unmanageable.

Makes perfect sense, thank you.
