I'm new here. Could someone explain what all of the icons in profiles mean?

Most icons will have a detailed description when one hovers over them.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to paste the images here, but I'll see if I can describe them well enough.

The first line states gender (male, female, unspecified), and country of origin (a flag)

Reputation (green and red thumbs) are what others think of you. A player has no direct control over their own ratings, just a reflection of how well they play with others.

The next icons are a bit more cryptic.
The arrow leaving the rectangle is how many times a player has left a table during play. This could be to internet connection problems, emergencies that call one away, or by simply being a sore loser and quitting when it looks like one can't win. When less than 1%, it's generally safe to assume the former. With more than 10%, probably the latter.
The clock represents how often a player has gone over their thinking time. Each player is allotted a certain amount of time to make each of their moves. This time can be adjusted when the table is set up (normal, slow, fast, not timed). Having to wait for an opponent to make a move is sometimes frustrating. (Note: remember, though, that players are allowed all of their thinking time. If you want the game to go faster, set up a fast game. Don't bug a person in chat during a slow game if they still have time.)

The cartoon text balloon is for the language(s) the players claim they speak. Bold for fluency, normal text for competent. If you want to chat, a lack of common language may be a problem. If you just want to play, this isn't often an issue. The chat system does link to Google Translate, which can give a general indication of the meaning. However, it doesn't handle misspellings that well. And idioms. And puns. And internet txt. And ....

The above markings are considered important to a player's general gaming ability, and are shown when a player joins a table. Thus, one can see that, for example, a middle-aged male from the United States, who has a like to dislike ratio of 40:1, disconnects and times out rarely, and claims to speak fluent English is at a table, waiting to play.

After this, the icons are based on individual games. Hovering over them is the best way to find out about them. In general, though, they indicate how many games one has played, how many victories they have in that game, and their skill level at that game.
