Custom deck modifications?

Hi,

Could there be any kind of custom setup for the card deck? Like there is for zoos. Or if not an option to play without specific cards? I just don't like the eagles. It such an oppressive play. Surefire way to victory and, personally, I don't enjoy a game that descent into a hunt through the deck for these specific cards. It would be fine if there were supporting a specific strategy the player is banking on, but the extra action at the end is just too powerful in this game.

Standard BGA procedure: no custom designs/houserules unless the publisher approves it.

So don't bet on it.

I was kinda curious, so i ran a tally over 200 games (half mine half from a friend) and noticed that the american eagle had an average win rate of 53% which is not that high.
And it's biaised because it only counted games where the eagle was actually played, meaning that if you lost with an eagle in hand it would not count as a loss for the eagle.

You need to take into account some people play the eagle in desperation to catch up if they're severely behind which would bring the win rate down. If you're keeping up with your opponent and get to the last few rounds with an eagle and your opponent doesn't, it's pretty much guaranteed win for the player with the eagle.

That looks like selective sampling. You only count the eagle when it matches your conclusions, and not otherwise? If you go that route, you also need to take into account that sometimes playing the eagle doesn't make a difference because the player would have won anyway.

So the game is not so much about getting an eagle, but about keeping up with your opponent while making sure you end up with an eagle in your hand (and able to play it) and your opponent doesn't.
