Are game logs public data?

As stated in the Terms of Service, "When You play Applications involving multiple Users, please note that some Personal Data will be made public and therefore accessible to other Users, such as your Username, statistical data and game performance data. The data of the Content published in the context of chats and forums may also be made public to Users and Internet Users."

Does this mean I can quote game logs? It seems equivalent to providing the URL - anyone can make an account on BGA to view the replay.

For example, suppose I want to publish a strategy guide for Ticket to Ride. I find a game replay on BGA that illustrates some key principle. Is it permissible to quote the game log?

Example:

Do not draw to 44+ cards before claiming routes if you go second and your opponent is going at maximum speed. This makes you vulnerable to an opponent that ends the game in 28 turns by drawing to 44 cards and placing 43+ trains within 8 claimed routes (citation 1).

My understanding is that you can post al ink to a game for review and study or analysis, as long as it is not the for purpose or embarrassing or calling out the opponent(s).

I would await a reply from a forum moderator though just to be sure.

Fair enough. Bumping for further visibility. Requesting moderator / admin perspective.

You may want to submit that as a support question: https://boardgamearena.com/support

The question is likely out of scope for the forum moderators, and I don't expect the policy-making staff to monitor the forums. You're asking permission to use data from the site, which is a reasonable question to take to the policy-makers if you think the existing documentation isn't clear on that point.
