Board Game Arena

Hi all, I am not a very experienced TM player and am facing a situation in a turn-based game I am playing, that whenever I pay heat to increase the temperature my total score is decreasing for 4 points while the score of my opponent is increasing for 5 points. So in total increasing the temperature costs me 9 points. I am 20 points ahead of my opponent at the moment but cant force the game to finish because of this evil magic.

Can someone explain me what is happening here? Is this a bug or is there a card / effect in the game that causes me to lose points when I increase the temperature and my opponent to gain points at the same time.

I am a bit puzzled

Is thermalist sponsored and paying heat drops you from 1st to last? (2p game awards no 2nd place btw)

Ah thats the answer. Thx for the hint. My opponent sponsored thermalist.

Good to know, that it shouldnt be happening everytime that I lose 9 points when I increase the temperature. Thx again for helping!
