a.) Are cool! And its fun having to consider the chance the combo resides in opp's hand.
b.) BGA is filled with very nice people. It's unreal how sacred and rare this place is. Not perfect, but nothing is.
=======nothing to see here, move along (said in Simpsons Cop voice)=====
Ohkay. This is really dumb imho.
First of all. I've never drawn THREE army guys to my reserve, not once.
But its happened to me three out of the last five games. Where my opponenet just plays THREE army guys to cap my tower.
This is super dumb and should be patched. Its no fun to lose a game on turn 5 cause he plays four units in a turn. Like come on.
Or if this is really a feature of the game. That hey. Just some matches you're gonna get beaten with no recourse.
Like in MTG when you get mana screwed.
Well fine. Then by default make a ranked match 2 out of 3.
Unreal

Yeah, its sometimes very lucky/unlucky, depending on who gets them. But op for sure

It's not like this is the only way large swings of luck can occur in this game. Trying to mitigate all of them would lead to a mess, I think you just have to accept that the game involves a good quantity of luck. Playing two out of 3 would help, it's just a matter of if the averaging out the luck over more games is worth the extra time required to get a result.

Won myself with 3 army guys, but you need some preparation for it and might be countered by those discard guys. And you can easily prevent it by guarding your base Not only with skelets.

Yeah - I came back to delete my cope rant post.
I smiled at myself as the page loaded, preparing my armor for what is surely completely justified shaming of my post.
But again BGA proves itself to be a bastion of tolerance and acceptance.
My heart was in the right place with my rant.
And you guys are 100% correct. Absolutely, I capitulate my point fully, and frankly I don't even know what I was on about.
After more games it felt fine. And every post above proves I was being a cry baby pee pants

The game is fun but it definitely tends to come down to who draws the most soldiers (even when they're not chained for a sudden HQ win). The stats back this up.
Sure there are rules they could have added to balance it but then it wouldn't be the simple, silly game it's meant to be.
The "luck" rating for the game should be bumped up though because 2 is definitely too low.

As one of the of the top players in this game, and one of the very few people with the achievement for a 10-win streak (entirely on arena, btw) I figured I may as well chime into this conversation.

Although I have had games that I won or lost to a cheesy double Cap'n (#2) turn, those games are extremely rare and if you play around them, they're even more rare. Using my own personal stats as a metric, I've played Cap'n less then any other activated toy aside for Jumbo (#3). I've also never personally seen a triple Cap'n turn. From experience, it's much more likely to get a Cap'n win off a low skilled opponent, which can explain this stat. Overall winners average across ALL games played has a higher percentage of Cap'n played.

I'd agree that every once in a while a game is decided purely by the draws and/or what gets discarded with XB-42 (#5) and it would be nice to have a Bo3 option. However, most games come down to skill and I therefor wouldn't want Bo3 in arena, since I want to Toy Battle to be a fun
and quick game.

Well, I would argue that in Arena. One is dismissing the "quick" aspect of the game, in favor of competition. In which case, bo3 maybe makes sense.
I've seen....thinking....Like three or four matches of triple soldier dudes. Doesn't trigger me anymore because I try to mitigate it, as well as, it is very rare.
I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield again Itch.

Although we can agree to disagree about the arena format, if I could heart this part of the comment, I would. Sure, you had a 2x soldier start, but inevitably you won because you outplayed me overall with the numerous decisions that followed. And yes, I look forward to meeting you again in the arena for a rematch. Ggs!
For those wondering, we played one game together and I had a lot of fun, even though I lost.

My first game ever was a loss to 3 army dudes.
Since then I have lost to it maybe 3/4 times out of 200 games.
On another note, I think the tiny island map should be removed from competitive play / arena because 3 army dudes can go straight for the base on turn 2.
