Hi Bang! players.
I am a developer of this great game. Together with Tisaac we developed a base game couple of years ago and then I developed both expansions. The game is quite popular on BGA but unfortunately the website administration decided that Bang! expansions do not add more value/premium players and they were not played enough to continue sponsoring their development.
Bang! is a complex game. Despite being pretty straightforward when playing a single game, there are hundreds of corner cases and tricky situations. But when I look at the Dodge City I break out in a cold sweat as I can see how many new problems could character abilities and new mechanics cause. The amount of time to spend on the next expansion is pretty high. Unfortunately, due to my current life situation I cannot spend this much time for free.
My recent idea was to set up a crowdfunding campaign. If we can gather some money which will be comparable to what BGA usually pays for development - I will be thrilled to bring Dodge City to BGA.
But I need to understand how many people are interested enough to invest their money in the project. If there's just 20-30 regular players - it won't be enough. So this thread is just a beginning. I just want to understand if crowdfunding campaign will make any sense to start. Please comment below if you are 100% sure you want and you can invest in Dodge City.
I'm sorry I'm asking for your money but this might be the only option for Dodge City to be introduced on BGA.

Can you reveal how much money would be required for you to do this project & also if that is an option for bang duel?

I haven't properly estimated but from the top of my head I will say something around €4k/$4.4k. But this is not a final number, it might change both ways.
Bang Duel is a separate game. We need to request graphics from the publisher, request for their approve for the game to be on BGA, make a new game from a scratch - this might take even more time thus money. But if this potential crowdfunding for Dodge City will be a success - there's nothing impossible (even though I haven't played Bang Duel myself ).

Myself and 5 others regularly play Bang on BGA and would LOVE the Dodge City expansion added. We've said we'd play even more on BGA if that were available. Definitely interested in learning more about that possibility and contributing to crowdfunding.

I like the base game but I don't care for the current expansions on bga at all. With that said I just took a look at dodge city & I don't see how bga admins can compare dodge city w/ the current expansions and come to the conclusion about membership. Will dodge city add more premium members? Who knows. But what it offers is a whole new set of characters, different cards, & a 3p/8p mode. I don't know how the 3p mode will play but I really want a mode for bang that eliminates the team aspect so I am interested in trying that (& why I advocated for bang duel!).

@Kuwizard - looking at the thread views here it is evident the majority of ppl on bga don't even take a glimpse at the forums. If possible you should do a banner on bang games with the funding attached to get peoples attention.

That's a great idea! I would definitely consider if we're going to start the campaign

Dodge City is my favorite expansion. I'm waiting for it for a really long time.I don't want to write a poem but i want to say a bit of things and feedbacks that could be useful:

1) If i can be totally honest, you can give to adminstrators my personal feedback that premium membership is a really not useful thing. If they want that players buy premium membership they need to add interesting features and solve bad problems of the community. I am not a premium member and i don't want to pay for it (at least for now) because there isnt't any really important feauters for buy it. The most bad problem of the bang community is related to the presence of lot of cheaters, people who have many acconts and other situations which make damage to all community. Let's be honest. It isn't the first time cheaters played and arrived first in arena mode. But nobody didn't anything for solve problems. They only banned the accounts without modify classification after arena season ended. And the cheater can create hundreds of other accounts. That's the most important problem. When i play on bang i feel just like there is some cheater in any table. I am not "motivated" to play and fight for become first in arena, knowing there are lot of cheaters who can easily reach first position. I would pay for premium membership if there will be the possibility to not have cheaters and have a clean community. The solution for it? Simple: associate the account with the phone number or better with a document. So, everyone can create and play with a single account associated with the document. If they create problems or they cheat, their account will be permanently banned and can't create other accounts because it's required their document. And that would be an easy and free implementation for the website.

2) It could be a nice idea the campaign. You can make a crowfunding or also let everyone that should be free to donate how much money want and can donate. Or make that each donation is about 5$. So in this case you will need about only 800 players for reach 4000$

3) People maybe would know also details about time for make that. Just like for example: if iyou will reach 4000$ you will develop dodge city as a job. And you will make that in 3 months. So people can think if it is a good thing to "invest" that money knowing that in 3 months they will have the game available.

4) Obviously, all people who will donate and support for Dodge City will need to be able to play with it without the need to be premium user

Bga kind of killed the newsfeed. If not for you mentioning it I would've never known.

Would love Dodge City. Would pitch in some, but not a lot though
