Looks like the rules wiki (and thus the rules on the game page) still say 2 tool faces not 2 "🟢🟢" faces. I was about to change it there but decided perhaps I best leave it to someone with a more direct understanding of the implementation, in case it's changed back since this forum post was made.

Also, I played my friends copy of "Streetcar" and it had a very different phase 2 movement mechanic. Both seem interesting--any chance of implementing the other as an optional mode on BGA?

Mayfair Streetcar edition
During the second part of the game, each player can move a
maximum of what the previous player moved + 1 space. So if
the preceding player moved 2 spaces, the next player can move
3, and the next player can move 4.
The first player to move his streetcar can only move 1 space.

Stop signs still must be obeyed, which knocks the current number down. Also, you can move less than allowed to lower the amount the next player can move.

This seems interesting - better than the dice - but I know it's tough to program a whole new system.

Yes! That was it. Means you actively try to avoid stations you don't need to stop at during the built phase. With the dice, it seems to me that the wrench and "H" cancel out so the number of other stations is largely immaterial.

These were the Mayfair rules and I would much prefer them. Finishing your track first and making it efficient should count for something, but currently it counts for very little.

I do enjoy this game but the dice at the end does seem a bit off, unsure how it could be better but the route building is so fun then it kind of just drags at the end. It could be from people still learning the game so there isn't the tension maybe.
