Players with Low Karma Scores are struggling to get back.

Dear all,

I have been a long time player at Boardgamearena and due to an unfortunate series of playing Agricola, I was kicked out of games for reading cards too slowly and ended up with a very low karma score. When I tried to play full games to get back up, there are players who purposely wait out so that I am not able to finish the game and hence they will win and I will end up with an even lower karma score.

Is this what the system is meant to do? Do let me know.

If you run out of time and get kicked regularly, your karma is meant to go down, so yes, that is intentional. It indicates to other players that you might run out of time again.

If you specifically have a problem with Agricola, try slower game speeds (longer time controls). If even 'slow' does not give you enough time, I recommend turn-based. You usually have to make 1 or 2 moves a day.

You can recover karma fast by playing fast games e.g. Can't Stop or Lucky Numbers.
