A Cathala Game! Prepare for a clash of wits and strategy! KAMON, an elegant and deeply tactical two-player abstract game, has arrived on Board Game Arena!
At first glance, KAMON's setup is simple: 37 unique tokens—each combining one of six colors and six symbols—are randomly placed across a hexagonal grid. One blank token acts as a silent sentinel, blocking movement and shaping the battlefield.
But don’t let the minimalism fool you. KAMON is a tense dance of logic and foresight. Each turn, players place a pawn on the board—but here’s the twist: the symbol or color on your move dictates your opponent’s next options. Place carefully, or you may end up handing your rival the path to victory.
Three distinct win conditions keep every match sharp and dynamic:
Connect Opposite Edges: Forge a path across the board, like in the classic game Hex.
Enclose a Region: Loop around one or more hexes—even if they're occupied!
Block Your Opponent: Lock them out of legal moves by clever token control.
Quick to learn, endlessly replayable, and filled with agonizingly delicious decisions, KAMON is a modern abstract that rewards both creativity and cold calculation.
