waiting for arena game

Sometimes I cannot get arena table because someone who plays a lot blocked me after I beat them and is already waiting for table that is searching for other players. It can go for more than an hour saying searching for players and I'm never matched.

But how is it, some days I am matched to two players and waiting for 1 more player. The player who blocked can already be in an arena game, finish it, search for another, and get matched pulling the two players who were at the table with me with a fourth player who hasn't blocked me and that I haven't blocked either.

Why are they not forced to wait indefinitely or at least until my table starts, whereas I must always wait? I thought this was a queue system of some sort. This happens almost each day I try to play.

because the BGA doctrine dictates, that your playing experience does not matter.. who are you, a single, non-premium member, compared to the hordes of 100 rated, 40% winrate players, (as well as 250+ rated "forever beginners"), eager to play competitive mode in a team game, unequipped with even as little as just the fundamentals of the game?
Sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but to BGA, they matter, not you. And don't you dare to object against anything they do wrong in the game. They have god given right to learn the game in a competitive environment and at your expense. It's a friendly place, where you can (read must) take everything with a smile, wish only good to them, to their family and friends, maybe wire them some money for a coffee, maybe become the godfather of their first-born child, because THAT is important here, not your playing experience. Remember that.

Arena mode is just weird and inconsistent. Normally the game just starts when the table is full and counts down from 5 seconds with no option to quit or cancel the start of the game. However, a table filled up and started to load the game but this time there was the option to cancel the start and we had to wait for one player to agree to the start. Then another player cancelled the start.

Is this normal or has anyone else encountered this?

yes, Ive encountered that also - had some ideas how to reproduce that but see no point in that :\

@TICHUMINATOR
try to RT them too, maybe that helps ? (BGA could have assumptions in their search algo... they are very good at this. )

You have no standing to give advice. Here's our only conversation, for which you were moderated and after which you blocked me:
TICHUMINATOR: you keep dragon with nothing?
bleu329: you think i can beat AAA?
TICHUMINATOR: you kept dragon with no tichu hand, indefensible
bleu329: i had a tichu hand, you are a loser
TICHUMINATOR: you had no aces, no phoenix, just a king and the king I passed you
bleu329: you are a loser in life
Maybe others will be more qualified to determine who should be nicer and who needlessly made it personal.

In conclusion Tichuminator is wrong about the trade and bleu is very rude which means I agree more with Tichuminator.

have you played with Tichuminator?

I didn't play Tichu for a long time, over one year, and in my first game back with him, he is berating his partner for "poor play." I remember him doing the same thing years ago, and obviously nothing has changed. I decided to call him out, because him and many others who do the same are poor for the community. If the moderators don't care about berating other players, then I felt something needs to be said.

If you choose arena, expect competitive players with strong opinions who ask questions about decision-making. If that's not your bag or you can't handle it, don't play arena.

What is "poor for the community" are players who demean themselves by immediately resorting to ad hominem and abusive insults. It's an unnecessary escalation. It's telling that you attempt to defend it. I don't comment on someone's quality as a person or player. Stick to the game and the choices involved.

Ok

But you are not engaging in strategic discussion. You are berating other players, over a period of years. Im glad you saved the chat messages. That means there was some impact.
