When opening a game, you can choose one out of different configurations. One option is "Deck Selection". What does this do?

Maybe this should be the headline for different deck selections, but it is listed as one item on the configuration list. Or is this part of a feature (free choice of cards) which isn't available yet?

Thanks, this mode allows you to chose the cards you play with. Maybe "Card Selection" is a better title.

Thanks for trying to help me, but this doesn't answer my question. Maybe my question was not detailed enough.

When opening a table I get these choices:
Configuration:
- Citrine deck
- Emerald deck
- Ruby deck
- Deck Suggestion 1
- Deck Suggestion 2
- Deck Suggestion 3
- Random (Pairs)
- Random (Full)
- Deck Selection

The last 3 options allow me to include promo cards, if I want to (at least it says so, I haven't tried that). The first 8 options are clear to me, but I don't know what "Deck Selection" stands for. When I click on it, there is nothing else to choose. I think this might be a bug of some kind, but I wanted to ask here first.

Thank you, deck selection allows you to choose your own cards to play with. Some of the cards are “freemium” like the promo cards. If you don’t have a premium account maybe the deck selection option doesn’t work. I’ve used it before and it works but I have a premium account.

Like JGUnnz says, when the game start, the first player will have all the cards included in the game et must make a deck of 18 cards from any cards available (with or without promo cards). The other player have to wait for the first player to choose the card before starting the game. It's more like the game Altered that when you start a game, you can select your deck.

Thank you for your explanation! I've never read of something like this on BGA. In all other games I know, all parameters are set before game start (besides card drafting alternating). Do I understand this correctly, the first player is chosen randomly by BGA and and is then the only one to select all cards they both will play with?

I think it could be helpful to add such a definition to the game options. Thank you!

That's just my question. In other games ALL players choose the cards, in this game it seems only ONE player chooses the cards - as I understand it now.

That's just my question. In other games ALL players choose the cards, in this game it seems only ONE player chooses the cards - as I understand it now.

I just tested this in Hotseat mode: Yes, ONLY the first player (not necessarily the game host) chooses all cards. That's - very unusual, be it on BGA or in real life!
