From the news post on the new Arena season:

 Some Explanation About: Relegations
At the end of each season, after winners have been awarded, you are relegated.
Some custom relegation rules may have been applied to games for some reason (ex: we decided to update the number of leagues), but in general here is what happens:

For games with 2 or 3 different leagues, all players are decreased by 1 league.

Since Planet Unknown has 3 leagues, wouldn’t Elite be relegated to Silver? It looks like players in Elite league are now showing bronze.

yes, this error has happened in Tichu as well. all players (including myself) who were Elite at the end of S20 seem to have been relegated by 2 leagues below as opposed to just 1. i think BGA made a mistake, either by not announcing this new change or by wrongly relegating players for certain games.

Ah, Tichu too? I saw a comment on the main News post for Arena Season 21 that it happened with Agricola too.

Thank you for reassuring me that I didn’t miss an announcement somewhere - if it was on purpose, there was no notice of any special case for Planet Unknown. Oh well…
