Please clearly indicate when the rules are not standard.
Highlight with a red background (like the warning for players that are new/leave games/other people dislike)
The warning should be on both join screen and game screen.
Right now it's very easy to miss/ignore the fact that you join a game variant, and once in the game there is no way to tell which variant if any is being played.

For most games, once the game has started, scrolling to the bottom of the page will have a (small) area which shows the variant in effect.

But, yes, it is quite easy to overlook when a non-default game is being played. Especially when one is the last to join a table, and the table administrator clicks to start the game as soon as the last person joins. A red background may be extreme, but some other color or alert would be appreciated.
