Small Step. Let's discuss how it ruins the game?

I hope Equinox will ban it or fix it. It's not possible that a game is ruined by a single card.
In this game doesn't exist stack (like Magic) and I appreciate it but it's non sense that a card that make you win with a step less than the other without opponent could make a reply.
If you want a deck who wins choose Afanas or Fen with small step and whatever you want and you win.
I am very disappointed for this behaviour of Equinox and very very disappointed to see that people choose to win instead of think of a deck. That's not game. Shut down brain, copy list... this behaviour leads to make the game die

I see things a bit differently. ‘Small Step’ certainly fits Yzmir well and emphasizes its unique characteristics. Other factions have different strengths.
The reason the spell currently seems so powerful is less about the spell itself and more about the fact that Yzmir is generally a bit too strong at the moment.
I believe this will change again with the next expansion.

Hello everyone, imo the card is not well designed as it push players to only trade expeditions and no race against our opponent which is the base of the game. The package of cards like mage or helping hand are very favorable with this strategy but we can say the same for Lindiwe and Fen with less "unfair cards". If you run a aggro package you can win at least one expedition per day and in late game win thanks to Small step so I don't think it's just about the package of cards benefiting Yzmir but the fact that the card itselfd push players to only trade expeditions and not play the game as it is supposed to be played.

I think the spirit of the card was to give you a way to advance when you saw no other way. As such, I would not change the card, but rather the way the game checks for the win condition. Make it so that the check is done at night, after all effects (including Dusk ones) are fully resolved an if then only one side has won the game ends. This would help with grand endeavour as well, so a 2 for 1 situation.
