How long does alpha testing take?

Colonies is in alpha!! does anybody know how long it usually takes until it's fully released?
I don't, but, I have noticed the developes fixes bugs very quickly.
FLoater leasing is very easy. There just needs to be a "divided by 3" operator added to one line of code.
