Similarly, I do not wish to see turn-based game on the main screen of open tables. How can I filter those out? As I said, I got tricked into playing a turn-based game I do not wish to play.... and other players in that game are not gracious enough to abandon it.

Here's a possible work around: Go to the Play now page https://boardgamearena.com/lobby Choose at the top: simple game, real time, manual.

That didn't much help. Creating a new table still defaults to "Turn-based" instead of "Real Time"

It's really annoying.

I even exited the site, cleared all cookies and cached files, closed the browser, logged back on to Boardgamearena and STILL it defaults to "turn-based".

Why was this changed? I can't imagine that the majority of users play turn-based.

Nothing has changed for me. It stays on whatever I last had it set to. Right now it shows real time because the last game I created was real time.

Might be something on your end?

Sorry, I might not have been clear enough. Did you create the new table on the Play now page (instead of the game page)? And checked (or set) also for real time in the table configuration on the left side? And do you still see turn-based games on the Play now page?

It hasn't changed for me and if it had changed globally there'd be a LOT more people complaining about it. So let others try to diagnose your issue.

Yes, I've created and played a Real Time game (several, in fact) from the Play Now page... I've deleted cookies. I've cleared my browser cache. My browser is Microsoft Edge.

STILL when I attempt to start a new game from the Play Now page it defaults to "Turn-based".

Is it because, perhaps, I'm currently stuck in a Turn-based game I have no desire to be in?

It is quite annoying.
