I do not understand the logic for highlighting numbers already set in the grid. Is it the nearest from the last on the table ?

Because you can click any of them to swap places with your current tile.

Is it then only because my mouse or pointer was on this number when the tile was put on the table ?

Yeah, I think that should be how it works...
