Board Game Arena

1) I used a joker. It added 96 hours to all my games.
2) In one game, when I go to the game screen, it is my turn and it says I have 23 hours left.
3) But, when I view my list of active games, it says I am -9 hours.
4) I received an e-mail saying, "You are out of time in this game".
5) The system will not let me play any more turn-based games while this situation is unresolved.

Please help. I am confused.

Is that a tournament game?

Always provide table link(s) if you want help in specific scenarios. We rather not spend time and effort to find the table you are referring to. (This is not just for you, many others also fail to provide relevant table links.)

Is it your turn in that game? If yes, make your move, and hopefully that will count as 'resolution'.

And good point from meeplelowda, time jokers do not help for tournament games, as tournaments typically have a fixed maximum time allocated for each round, which is the same for all players and cannot be extended.

Note to others: OP seems to be moderated for 10 days (possibly unrelated to the topic), so we might we have to wait for a reply.

It seems to have been simply a display glitch.

When I click my icon at the top right, bringing up a list of my in-progress games, this one shows as -7 hours. I receive e-mails telling me I am out of time.

This one says 19 hours:

Yet, I have used a vacation joker. If I actually open the table, it indicates I used a joker, and shows 3 days (for the first game I listed), and 4 days for the second game I listed.

Still, it makes me nervous that in some places it seems to be showing the time without the joker, and the e-mails do also.

Both of those tables show that you have at least 3 days. It is very possible that you have to so something to force the list of in-progress games to query the database again (like refresh the page). I doubt the BGA page is setup for those state changes to be pushed or automatically refreshed.

It does sound like a bug, as you are describing it. Especially receiving emails saying you are out of time on the table, after you've used a joker and at the table itself it says you have a few days remaining. You may want to report at https://boardgamearena.com/bug (include, at a minumum, a link back to this thread, and ideally screencaps of everything relevant).

But if I were you, I would not be worried about getting booted from those games, as long as the table itself shows that you have time remaining.

It's definitely a bug, and I need to create a ticket.

The system will not allow me to start a real time game (I'm trying to create a friendly game with a friend) because it says it is my turn is a game in which I am in negative clock.
