Drafting Preludes option!?

Hey fellow Martians!

I wanted to start a discussion and propose a feature enhancement that I believe many players would appreciate: adding an optional game setting to draft the Prelude cards.

Currently, the standard setup involves dealing 4 Prelude cards and keeping 2. A new implementation could be similar to other drafting mechanic, a simple "draft 1 from a pack of 4, pass the rest" until everyone has drafted 4 cards, then each player chooses the 2 they wish to keep.

Of course this should be optional. I really enjoy the strategy behind drafting not only thinking what will synergies with my corp but also understanding what choices my opponents made once we have the our chosen cards. Also potentially mitigates the situation where you may have had 4 preludes that don't work with your strategy and you get to see more options.

What do you think?

PS I am new to the forums. Sorry if this is not the place to discuss feature requests

This has come up recently, and although I'd support some form of prelude drafting (e.g. 2/1/1) I believe that the general BGA policy is not to implement variants unless they're official.

BGA does implement variants that do not exist in physical games. For example, Ark Nova - playing the same map and alternative maps.

Everything needs to be approved by the publisher though.
