Can you enable group notifications? I created a group, posted activities, but nobody seems to see them.

Maybe it is not possible, but it is disappointing when you do not see news/activities and group chat posts unless you manually open the group page or are online when something is posted in the chat room.

Oh, so THAT’S WHY no one in my tournament group seems to see my messages and sign up for tournaments.

This has been an ongoing complaint for many years. Unfortunately most group admins probably don't even know that none of their members see any of their announcements.

If my group has been inactive for a while, I have to message each person individually to tell them there's an announcement. We have about 90 members, and I message about 40-50 of them. If you message more than about 20 people within a few minutes, you will be banned from talking for an hour or so, for "spamming". And then when you can talk again, if you send 5 messages within a minute you will be banned again, even if it's just a conversation with 1 person.

At the end of that hour I usually have about 15 people messaging me about the announcement, but I know I can't answer them for a while.

It would also be nice to get a notification when someone joins my group. If I see someone has joined I like to message a "welcome" to them, but most of the time there is no way to know when someone joins. So, 1/2 the people join, don't see any notification, and get ignored. I'm sure it feels like an unfriendly group. If only we could communicate somehow.

As a tournament organizer, you can explicitly invite people to join the tournament. (Can't point you to the controls for that, as I haven't organized one, but I have gotten tournament invitations.) That will show up in the "!" menu in the topic bar, and the profile link will occasionally show red to indicate an unread item.
