Status of the game and bugs?

I love Scythe. I see it is still in Beta, and that many open bugs reports are quite a few months old. This is in NO WAY meant to be a slight to the developer here for this game, but other games seem to move through Beta a lot faster.

Any ideas on the reasoning for the relatively slow progress, and expectations for when the bugs might get fixed?

If I were to play, is the game functional enough, or am I likely to be frustrated by bugs, including game-ruining ones?

I can play on friendly mode to try it out, I suppose.

It is absolutely functional enough to play. There's a chance you'll run into a bug, but is not likely to happen very often at this point.

Beta means no arena or tournaments, but there's a solid player base in simple games. I suggest looking at turn-based games as you're more likely to find a game that way. You could play friendly mode, sure, but I don't think it'll be that much of a different experience.

As for how fast games go through beta, I figure that each game is unique in terms of what's needed, so it's hard to compare one game's development process with another's.

This game is hardly functionable to play. It's probably the worst adaptation of a game on all of BGA. It's just a brutal interface and completely unenjoyable.
Devs need to scrap and start all over.

You've tried 23 of the 1000+ available games and already you know it's "probably the worst"? :D

I havent seen any recently created suggestion so i guess you dont really have any constructive feedback to share ?

I'm going to respectfully but firmly disagree with Hurricane3788. The game is very functional and I have greatly enjoyed playing it. Thank you to the devs for all their hard work. I look forward to playing the full release of the game, whenever that comes out.

I am going to also respectfully disagree with Hurricane3788. The game is fine. What exactly are the reasons, Hurricane3788? You did not elaborate at all.

I don't think I've encountered any bugs in my Scythe games. The board takes a little getting used to as you can get stuck on it if you're not careful, but otherwise the interface is great.

I think the interface is ok; I also think BGA (or whomever owns it, Asmodee?) should pay their developers actual employment salaries, benefits, etc. . If I read some forum posts correctly, most (all?) developers on here work as volunteers? You pay peanuts (or nothing) you get a low quality product? Hope this helps.

I’d hardly call the implementation “low quality”. And I’d hardly call such comments “helpful”.
